Super DIRTcar Series Opens Tonight; LaSalle Returns with O'Brien

Tonight (Wednesday) the Super DIRTcar Series opens up at Brockville Ontario Speedway. The Series will stop at Brockville again in the fall for the annual DIRTcar Nationals. This will be the 7th Super DIRTcar Series event at 3/8 mile track. Billy Decker is the only driver with more than 1 Super DIRTcar Series victory at the track.

Current Brockville Ontario Speedway points leader, Danny O'Brien, will reunite with the LaSalle Motorsports team for tonight's 100-lapper. O'Brien last drove for LaSalle in 2007. This will be the first appearance of the LaSalle owned #m96 modified in 2014. The team has scaled back their modified efforts to focus on sportsman action for Jeremy LaSalle. Other drivers that have made names for themselves aboard the LaSalle m96 throughout the years include Jessica Zemken, Brian McDonald, Todd Stewart, Tim Kerr and Lee Ladouceur.

New Deyo race Announced; AJ Lands a Ride; Weekend Recap; Win List; This Week's Schedule

Brett Deyo has announced the "Bash at the Beach" for the last Tuesday in August at Georgetown Speedway. The event will pay $4,000 to win and will be a join effort between Deyo, Georgetown, and Eric Kormann. For a full announcement, check out this week's edition of Area Auto Racing News.

Following Matt Sheppard's departure to HBR following the 2013 season, JB Motorsports scaled back to focus solely on Jeff Brownell Jr's career. However, Brownell Sr will roll out a big-block for Alan Johnson to run in Tuesday's RoC Dirt Tour event at Yates County Speedway. As of now, the Johnson/Brownell combo will be a one-race deal.

Here's a look back at the weekend that was, and a look at what's on the schedule for this week;

Brett Wright Moves Up; Weekend Schedule

Sportsman star Brett Wright made his modified debut last week at Albany-Saratoga Speedway, and plans to stay there. Wright originally planned to run his sportsman throughout the spring and summer before making the jump to the small block division for late season events. However, a string of early-season bad luck forced Wright to alter his plans and jump to Albany's premier division much earlier than originally planned.
