Hyneman to sit out 2010

Another big race team will sit out 2010. Glenn Hyneman will not field a car in 2010, after only running part-time last season with Billy Pauch and Mike Gular behind the wheel of the famous #126. The team has won races and championships throughout the east coast, and has had some of the top drivers drive the car which include Pauch, Gular, Craig Von Dohren, Jeff Strunk, and Duane Howard. This doesn't come as much of a surprise, as the team only ran a handful of races after Hyneman parted ways with Pauch in Hyneman, and everyone expected the team to fold for 2010. However, there were reports of Hyneman working on a deal to field a car for this season with Gular, but he ended up deciding to sit out 2010. He'll join teams such as PPB Racing, Don Schaeffer Racing, Doug Dullen Motorsports, and Ted White Racing in sitting out 2010.

Mike and Danny Nicholas 2010

The father and son duo will be back at the race tracks in 2010....As Danny plans a return to Big Diamond Raceway for the weekly wars in a '09 Teo car with a Gettle motor under the hood, that will carry the #39 on the door panels....Also look for the possibilty of Danny maybe hitting a couple of shows at Grandview Speedway also this upcoming season.

People, remember you heard it hear first, don't be surprised when Danny Nicholas pulls into victory lane at BDR in 2010....This kid really came on strong last year and was BIG TIME improved at BDR last season....The night of the double features, Danny went out and got his bext two finishes ever, a 2nd in the first race (CVD got by him late) and a solid 3rd place finish in the night cap....Danny Nicholas is definitely a name/star of the future.

Danny's dad Mike, long time veteran on the Pa SBM scene and multiple feature winner I might add, will also be back on the race tracks in 2010....After basically sitting out '09 to watch and help Danny, Mike will be back behind the wheel of a mod this upcoming season, WHERE HE BELONGS....Don't look for Mike to be a weekly racer anywhere this season, but to run a schedule filled with special events....You'll find Mike in a brand new 2010 Teo, which by the way, is the first brand new car he'll race in like 10 yrs, with Gettle power under the hood....Mike will hit special events at BDR, Grandview's Thunder On The Hill shows, and the Susky sbm race in August....You'll even see Mike drop in a big block powerplant to hit some shows at Hagerstown Speedway.

Folks, keep your eyes on both these guys when they hit the track this coming season, as they are going to be contenders, NO DOUBT.

Drummond, Utica Rome, and Susky release schedules

On Sunday August 1st, Susquehanna Speedway Park will have their lone appearance for the 358 modifieds.

Autodrome Drummond has also released their schedule, however, it's all in French. Some highlights include the Super Dirt Series invading on July 20th. Also, the 358 Dirt Series invades on September 11th for a 160 lap, $10,000 to win show. Opening day is May 8th, and final points night is September 4th. Couple of Tidbits

Kenny Brightbill, Grant Hilfiger, and Rob Bellinger have been added to the driver chart.

Kenny Brightbill takes over driving duties in the Coulbourne Racing #55 big block modified for weekly competition at Delaware International Speedway. Brightbill ran part-time in his own #19 last season. Jamie Mills and Tim Trimble ran the Coulbourne car last season, Mills will return to the seat of the Eugene Mills owned #30 big block modified, which he finished out last year with. No word what Trimble will do.

John Pfeffer will be teaming up with Rob Bellinger and will run the team's small block modified weekly at Can Am. Doug Elkins broke the story on Doug's Dirt Diary.

Also, per a local newspaper article, 2009 Super Dirt Week Sportsman winner Matt Billings will be moving up to the 358 modified division for weekly competition at Brockville in 2010.

Hagerstown Speedway Schedule Released

Hagerstown Speedway has released their schedule, here are the dates in which modifieds will be on the schedule...

Another Florida Dirt Tour Update

Here's the updated Volusia Speedway entry list for the Florida Dirt Tour. Billy VanImwegen will be driving as a teammate to Jeremy Markle, and Danny Johnson is in the Nick Nerro owned #49er big block modified which raced last year part-time with Chuck McKee behind the wheel. The team ran an experimental spec big block in 2009. Varin will be behind the wheel of the Commercial Roofing Racing #10, but as stated before, the team will have a different driver behind the wheel for weekly racing at Brewerton. There are currently 37 teams listed.
