Hansell Looking North; More Schedules Released; Allegheny Motor Speedway a no-go?

Norm Hansell and Frank Cozze will not return for a second season, and Hansell is looking to make a splash with his new driver. Stewart Friesen will return to the seat of the 357 for weekly competition at Big Diamond Raceway this season, and Hansell will also field a car for Matt Sheppard in select specials on the RoC Dirt Tour, Short Track Super Series, and other high-paying events in Pennsylvania. Hansell is hoping to put together a deal for another driver for weekly action on Saturday nights at Grandview, and is currently in talks with another New York star.

Frank Cozze will return to the Rick Clay 88c that he ran in the Turkey Chase at Bridgeport Speedway in November, the pair will run a specials-only schedule.

Woodhull Raceway, Fonda Speedway, and Sportsman's Speedway have released their 2014 schedules. All schedules, along with all other schedule changes from the past few weeks, have been added to the Master Schedule (link to the left).

Friend of the site, Josh Bayko, has reported that it looks like the revival of Tri-City Speedway (renamed Allegheny Motor Speedway) may be dead in the water. Per Bayko, the sale of the speedway was not finalized. Mike Thomas, who is in the head of what was to be the new management team, has been occupied with his other business which will likely prevent the deal from taking place. This a major blow to the BRP Modified Tour as 5 of the currently scheduled 11 series events were to take place at Allegheny Motor Speedway. This development comes just weeks after DIRTcar announced they would no longer be affiliated with the tour, which resulted in Lernerville Speedway not being part of the '14 BRP Modified Tour schedule.
