Georgetown back from the dead... again

Georgetown Speedway refuses to die. After closing mid-summer in 2007, it looked like Georgetown Speedway may be gone for good. However, thankfully, Jay James stepped up to the plate and put a great deal together to bring Georgetown from the grave yet again with a Super Dirt Series 100 lap race on July 17th.
The race will complete a Southern trip for most Dirt Series teams, as the Traffic Jam 100 will be the previous night at Grandview Speedway. Once again, this was an incredibly smart move by Dirt and Mr. James to help with the fan and car counts at both tracks.
However, am I the only one confused by this whole deal? Jay James runs Bridgeport Speedway, the track that runs their biggest race of the year, the Atlantic Coast Championships, directly against Dirt's biggest show of the year, Super Dirt Week. Not only that, but when Dirt sanctioned the ACC Weekend, apparently there were payment issues between Dirt and Bridgeport. Hopefully Jay and Dirt can bury that hatchet by putting on a great show in Delaware on July 17th. Once again a huge thank you to Dirt and Jay James for bringing back Georgetown Speedway to us! It's also worth noting that a second event is being planned around Labor Day, and there's a strong possibilty for many more races in 2009.

Welcome...

Hey everyone. We decided to try something new here by starting a blog here at Wago. The infamous Diamond Dog (Brad Keitsock) will help us out, along with Western PA super-fan Josh Bayko, modified young gun who races at Fonda, Accord, and Syracuse Brett Graham, and we'll be introducing more people in the near future. We'll all be mainly focusing on big and small block modifieds, just like ClubWago.com does, but other divisions will be focused on every once in a while as well, especially by Josh Bayko. Feel free to contact me with any questions or suggestions. Hopefully you guys enjoy reading the blog on a regular basis!
