Hearn, Murdick, and Hoard Win Big Money Races

Here we are with another weekend of racing in the books. Happy Victoria Day to our friends up north! Mother nature claimed a couple of Saturday night races as Mercer, Sharon, and Mahoning Valley were all cancelled due to rain. Five Mile Point gave modifieds the night off, and Merrittville has the modifieds scheduled for tonight as the 358 Dirt Series kicks off with a $4,000 to win race at Merrittville. Congratulations to Mike Mahaney on his first career modified win. Lots of drivers were in different cars this week, Bobby Varin blew up the Romano Racing 97 modified Friday and Glen Ridge, so Erik Nelson offered up his #85, which Varin ended up winning the night's feature with. Kevin Bolland is still serving his questionable suspension with the BRP Modified Tour for not using the guarenteed starting spot in last year's Rite-Aid 200, so, for the BRP Tour race at Lernerville Speedway Bolland hired sprint car star Ed Lynch to pilot the car, he brough home a 6th place finish. David Van Horn drove Brian Truppi's #02 to a 5th place finish at New Egypt Speedway after Van Horn discovered problems on his car. Ryan Jacobs is returning to full-time competition after taking a few years off.
