Laubach/Blewett Part Ways

Two-time defending New Egypt Speedway points champion Rick Laubach has parted ways with Blewett Motorsports, following a disappointing start to the season at New Egypt. Laubach will continue to run Saturday nights at New Egypt Speedway, more than likely with the Herman Motorsports #7. Laubach will also continue to run Big Diamond on Fridays with the Herman/Beer City Racing #7.

Highlights From the Weekend...

With Fulton, Canandaigua, Brewerton, Fonda, and Glen Ridge all being rained out, there aren't as many highlight videos to watch this week. However, there's still plenty to check out, thanks again to all the videographers that put the time into shooting and editing their videos.

At Big Diamond Speedway it was Craig Von Dohren who added another Diamond win to his legendary career.

Grandview Speedwaysaw Doug Manmiller end his win drought at the Bechtelsville oval.

Billy Pauch continued his dominance at New Egypt Speedway picking up his seventh win of the season, already. NOTE: Modified heat race crash shown 1st, then sportsman highlights, followed by mods.

Finally, watch basically the entire feature at Utica Rome Speedway, where Alan Johnson won his third race of 2011, at his third different track.

BELOW: Watch Lebanon Valley Speedway highlights, as Brett Hearn charges to pick up the win.

Howard & Bartemy Win Mid-Week Specials

Duane Howard and Adam Bartemy picked up $2,500 small block wins on Tuesday night. Howard did it at the Thunder on the Hill Series race at Grandview Speedway, and Bartemy won the dirt modified special at Dunn Tire Raceway Park. I-88 Speedway was also scheduled to run, but that event was postponed after heats were run, racing will resume tonight.

Also, Bridgeport has rescheduled the rained out feature from a few weeks ago to be run on July 19, along with a complete show for the big block modifieds. This race was not originally scheduled, so be sure to mark your calendars.

Here are the top finishers at Grandview and Dunn Tire...

Highlight Time

First of all, moose, DC, and Greg, I enjoyed the debate/conversation about the purses we had on the chatbox. Hope it continues and we have more in the future. I enjoy chatting racing 24/7, and like that some of my readers are respectful and know that despite different opinions, everyone can have an open conversation about it. Thanks guys, I owe you a beer or something down the road!

Haven't posted highlights in a while here and I apologize for that. With the rain outs last weekend there aren't a ton of highlights available this week, but I figured I owed you guys something. So, here with go with highlights from this past weekend...

Remember, click the name of the track to view the highlights from last weekend. The highlights at the bottom are embedded right on here, so just click the box and they should play.

Matt Sheppard charged from last to first to pick up the win at Brewerton Speedway, continuing another fine season for Sheppard.

New Egypt Speedway saw Gary Butler hold off Billy Pauch for the victory. (Note: there's also a video of Jimmy Horton's heat race wreck on that same link)

At Big Diamond Speedway it was the "Ultimate Underdog" who collected his first win of the season.

(Below) Watch Lance Willix pick up his second win of the year

Van Pelt Gaining Momentum at Woodhull

Billy Van Pelt had a terrible start to the year. The multiple time Woodhull Raceway champion struggled to find the top 10, let alone victory lane. However, he was able to find victory lane at Woodhull just a few races ago, and now picked up the $2,000 win at Woodhull on Wednesday night, beating a field of 28 modifieds and holding off Al Rudalvagage who's dominated the early part of the year at Woodhull. Here's the top 5 from Wednesday's feature

Woodhull Raceway (40 laps $2,000 to win)
1st 24 Billy Van Pelt
2nd 145 Al Rudalavage
3rd 21 Mike Bills
4th 2 Curt Van Pelt
5th 9x Dale Welty

Tonight, the big block modifieds invade Bridgeport Speedway for a $3,000 to win feature event.

Decker Stays Hot at Canandaigua

Billy Decker used a late race restart to jump from 4th to 2nd, and quickly ran down Matt Sheppard to take the lead. From there, he didn't look back, as he went on to pick up the $3,000 feature win.

Tonight, Woodhull Raceway has a 40 lapper that pays $2,000 to win.

Tidbits

Sorry I've been behind lately, the fantasy league will be posted by tomorrow at the latest.

There will be a few drivers out of their normal rides for this Tuesday's $8,000 to win Clash at the Can RoC Dirt Tour event at Penn Can Speedway. Alan Johnson will be driving the JSG Motorsports #3G modified normally piloted by Mike Gular, as Gular will be driving the Terry Fastnacht #53 he's piloted to the 2010 Penn Can Speedway track championship.

Billy Pauch will be behind the will of the Dieter Schmidt Motorsports #5 modified. The Dieter Schmidt car hasn't been on track since Jimmy Horton drove the car at Volusia. Pauch and Schmidt have partnered up for quite a few seasons in the past.

Del Rougeux's business has forced him to put his racing career on hold, but, instead of letting his equipment sit, he'll have Jerry Higbie run his car in select specials throughout the year. Higbie and Rougeux partnered up to enter the All-Star event at Rolling Wheels Raceway last weekend, and plan on running bigger races all year.
