Decker wins Ransomville

Billy Decker is unstoppable. He's easily the hottest driver on dirt right now, and added to his win total with a win in the Super Dirt Series race at Ransomville Speedway Thursday night. Not only did he pick up the win, he opened up his points lead big time with Dale Planck having problems and not being able to finish the race.

While Decker was able to pick up the win, the real winner was Robbie Krull. The Ransomville/Merrittville regular had an incredible night picking up by far his best tour finish with a 2nd place. After starting on the outside of the front row after a strong heat run, Krull used his small block engine to take the lead and lead most of the first 1/4 of the race. Congrats Robbie on a great race. While outside of the northern part of the NY/Southern Canada Krull is relatively unknown, he's one of the biggest stars up there. He is always in contention for the points title at Ransomville, and usually notches off at least a win at Merrittville every year. He's just another example of being a very talented driver not known by much of the racing community due to not being able to afford to travel. Some more fans now know the name Robbie Krull after last night.

I have attended Reading (PA), Bridgeport (NJ), Georgetown (DE) DE International (DE), and Bear Ridge (VT) for years....Reading now defunct (Georgetown DE to open for 1 race on July 17). I have been living in Western NY for a while and did not know there was a great Dirt Track in this area. I had always thought Ransomville was somewhere in eastern/Upstate NY. When I looked at the schedule I was disappointed since I did not see modified racing on Friday July 4, 2008 but then saw the Big Blocks were there July 3! Many of the drivers I had seen through recent years were there! Billy Decker was incredible. I was also impressed with a local Robbie Krull. The previous blog said he was running a small-block?! The track was in great shape since it rained earlier in the day. Can someone tell me what motors the 'Sportsman' run. I am familiar with the 358 small-blocks and Big Blocks. Dodge_Charger_43
