DeSantis and Phelps Win Big

As another huge weekend of racing got in the books, two drivers added 5-digit wins to their list of accomplishments. On Saturday night, the Freedom 76er, which paid $20,000 to win, was run at Grandview Speedway. After a thrilling night, that saw Ryan Godown sent to the rear while leading, Craig Von Dohren crash while making a pass to take the lead, and Duane Howard cut a tire with 8 laps to go while leading, it was MeMe DeSantis who came from the 22nd starting spot to pick up the $20,000 win. Finishing second was Doug Manmiller, and rounding out the top 5 were Jeff Strunk, Mike Gular, and Billy Pauch Jr.

Also on Saturday night, the 358 Series invaded Drummondville for a $10,000 to win 150 lap feature. In this race, it was Jimmy Phelps, who snuck passed Larry Wight right after the 1/2 point, who went on to collect his biggest win of the year. Rounding out the top 5 there was Brett Hearn, Danny Johnson, Carey Terrance, and Larry Lampman.

Also in action on Saturday, the BRP Modified Tour invaded Sharon Speedway. There, it was Jim Rasey picking up his first tour win of the season as he snuck passed Carl Weatherby early in the race and never looked back, Jeremiah Shingledecker held on for 2nd, Weatherby fell to 3rd, and rounding out the top 5 were Jim Weller and Lonnie Riggs.

Finally, on Sunday the Super Dirt Series invaded Drummondville for a series race. Here, it was Matt Sheppard notching off yet another win on the season. Rounding out the top 5 were Billy Decker, Justin Haers, Gary Tomkins, and Jimmy Phelps.
