Friesen Continues Huge Year; Weekend Wrap up

Stewart Friesen picked up another huge win on Sunday as he picked up the $9,500 victory in Fonda Speedway's McDonalds 100. Friesen snuck around Bobby Varin late in the race to go on to picking up the win, and by winning he was also able to claim the Thunder Series points championship which pocketed him another $8,000.

In other racing news from the weekend, Jimmy Phelps picked up the win at Rolling Wheels Raceway, Jimmy Holden won the big 358 modified finale at Mercer Raceway Park during the Little Guy Nationals after Jeremiah Shingledecker won the big block portion on Saturday, Pete Bicknell won the Applefest Shooutout at Brighton Speedway, Matt DeLorenzo kicked off McDonald's Weekend at Fonda with a $4,000 victory, Howard O'Neal won the finale at Delaware International Speedway but Kenny Brightbill did what he need to do to pick up the points championship, Billy Pauch sweeped twin features at New Egypt Speedway but it wasn't enough as Rick Laubach claimed the New Egypt victory, open competition races were won by Leon Gonyo at Airborne, Wade Hendrickson at Bridgeport, and Glenn Strunk at Grandview.

Willy Decker is the latest driver to confirm he'll race at Syracuse, but just with a 358 this year.
