Georgetown Speedway Lives

Georgetown Speedway isn't done yet in 2008. Bridgeport owner, and the man who brought Georgetown back to life, Jay James has scheduled a 2nd race on the fast 1/2 mile Delaware oval. On August 31st the big block modifieds and the super late models will have 25 lap features, no word on a purse yet. While it's great to see Georgetown get another race this year, they're scheduled against a couple of big late model shows, along with Big Diamond's Coalcracker 100 which pays $10,000 to win, and the Super Dirt Series is at Weedsport that night. While some have stated that they won't lose many, if any, cars to these races because of the distance between the tracks, fans are now forced with having to make a decision on what to attend. Oh well, in any case, welcome back Georgetown!
