I'm Back: Howard wins $10,000; Varin wins Fonda Title

After being away for a week, I'm back! I know I'm behind with everything, and I've got to work tomorrow, so this is going to be short and sweet.

Duane Howard picked up the Forrest Rogers Memorial victory at Grandview Speedway which was worth $10,000 to the winner. It was Howard's first career win in the Forrest Rogers Memorial, and he had to earn it after a battle with Craig Von Dohren.

Bobby Varin picked up yet another Fonda Speedway big block modified track championship, as he picked up a 3rd and a 4th, which was enough to hold off Matt DeLorenzo and claim his 3rd consecutive and 6th overall Fonda championship. Ryan Odasz and A.J. Romano were the winners in the final points night of racing at Fonda. Here's the final top 5 in points from Fonda...
1st 00 Bobby Varin
2nd 3D Matt DeLorenzo
3rd 26 Dave Camara
4th 2 Ronnie Johnson
5th 41 Jimmy Davis

Also, the BRP Modified race scheduled for Mercer Raceway Park last week was rained out and rescheduled to September 11th.

Ronnie Johnson has confirmed his plans to race at Super Dirt Week with both a big and a small block modified. In the small block division, he'll once again pilot the Alton Palmer owned #76a small block modified. In the big blocks, he will not be piloting the Teo House Car this year, instead, he will drive the car that his father, Jack Johnson, piloted the last time Jack ran the mile, in 2008. Ronnie will run his dad's famous colors and number in the big block portion of Super Dirt Week.

Like I said, I work tomorrow, so the fantasy league will probably not be updated until sometime on Sunday. There's a possibility that I could have the standings updated by tomorrow, but Sunday seems more likely at this point.
