Modified racing in the northeast has finally been kicked off, with the annual Selinsgrove Speedway RoC Dirt Tour Ice Breaker Weekend.
On Friday night, it was the small block modifieds taking to the track for a 25 lap $2,200 to win show. Jeff Strunk looked strong all night and held of challenges from Stewart Friesen and also survived a late race restart with Jimmy Horton behind him and took home his first win in his first start (since 2008) with the Norm Hansell Motorsports team.

On Saturday night, the big blocks were on hand for a 40 lap $4,000 to win race. Dale Planck passed pole-sitter Pat Ward early in the event and seemed to dominate the race and pick up what appeared to be his first career RoC Dirt Tour win, with Pat Ward in second.. However, an unusual amount of yellow flags led to a lot more fuel being burned off than the drivers expected, both Planck and Ward were light at the scales, and third place finisher Danny Johnson was awarded the win and the $4,000 prize.
